Is Dinosaur Safari a walk or a ride?

Dinosaur Safari is a walk (approximately 1/3 of a mile). The route is ADA accessible, with a minor incline, and includes asphalt and crushed granite surfaces.

How long is the Dinosaur Safari experience?

The Dinosaur Safari footprint is a 1/3 mile long. The average experience is around 25-30 minutes. Guests are encouraged to go at their own pace.

How many dinosaurs are in the collection?

On the Dinosaur Safari walking trail, you can get up-close with 63 realistic, life-sized dinosaurs and pterosaurs, including more animatronic dinosaurs than ever before.

Is Dinosaur Safari appropriate for young children?

Our family-friendly attraction is great for all ages - both the young, and young-at-heart, will enjoy the chance to stroll along and experience the dinosaurs. The size, sound and animatronic movement can be scary for some children, so we recommend planning ahead to look at our website images and talk to your child about the experience.

Are there bathrooms at the Dinosaur Safari?

There are no bathrooms along the Dinosaur Safari trail. The nearest bathrooms are at the Madagascar! exhibit and Dancing Crane Plaza.

Is Dinosaur Safari included in my membership?

If you are a Zoos PLUS, Land & Sea, or Conservation-Level Member, Dinosaur Safari is included in your membership benefits.

Is Dinosaur Safari included in the ticket I purchased?

Dinosaur Safari is included in the Bronx Zoo Admission ticket as a Star Attraction. It is not included in Limited Admission. Limited Admission ticket holders can upgrade to Bronx Zoo Admission for unlimited Star Attraction access or purchase individual entry to Dinosaur Safari for $7 per person.

Is food available for purchase at Dinosaur Safari?

Towards the end of the Dinosaur Safari trail, snacks and gifts are available for purchase.

Is the Dinosaur Safari trail open during inclement weather?

Yes, Dinosaur Safari is open rain or shine.

Can I bring my stroller to Dinosaur Safari?

Yes, strollers are permitted along the path.

Can I take photos?

Absolutely. We encourage you to do so and tag @BronxZoo when posting on social media. Always stay on the designated pathways, and please do not touch the sculptures, signage or plantings.

Are there accommodations for guests with disabilities?

The Dinosaur Safari trail is ADA accessible. The route has a slight incline in the last half, and the path is primarily asphalt with a portion of compacted crushed granite. All mobility devices for guests with disabilities, including ECVs, are permitted through the attraction. Strollers are permitted as well.

Interactive areas have accessible elements such as raised dig box and wheelchair accessible photo ops.

Are there any live animals to see along the Dinosaur Safari path?

As you end the Dinosaur Safari trail, walk along the Birds of Prey Aviary to see owls, vultures and eagles - modern day dinosaurs! If you are looking for some up-close experiences with animals, including birds and reptiles, check out our Wild Encounters and book a program for your visit!
