The Bronx Zoo's Education Deparment is dedicated to providing quality services and resources to teachers in the New York City area and across the country. NEWS New Master’s Degree Program at Fordham University WCS and the Fordham University Graduate School of Education will offer a joint program leading to a Master of Science degree in education and New York state initial teacher certification in adolescent science education (biology grades 7-12), the first degree granting program of its kind in the US. The program will begin in summer 2008. Coursework will be split between Fordham’s Bronx campus and the Bronx Zoo. For more information see the GSE website.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Looking for professional development credit. The Bronx Zoo offers teacher workshops throughout the year. All workshops provide new teacher credit and many can be taken for graduate credits from area colleges or P credits from the NYC Board of Education. See a sampling of the courses we can provide in our new professional development catalogue and academic schedule online or request a copy by mail.
