Tiger Mountain
Siberian Tiger ©WCS/J.Maher | Go nose-to-nose with big cats at our award-winning, three-acre home for Siberian tigers. An open viewing shelter set deep in a recreated corner of the beautiful Amur Valley on the Russian-Chinese border will get you very close to these stars in stripes.
Don’t miss our year-round daily tiger enrichment sessions, when keepers work with the cats to stimulate their curiosity and natural instincts, and teach them behaviors that facilitate tiger care. The tigers are eager to explore whatever specially designed “cat toys” the keepers may have in store for them—a treat spinner high up in a tree, a deer hide dangling from the end of a fishing pole, or a big barrel to pounce on.
You’ll also be able to collect signs that field scientists look for when they study tigers in the wild. Listen to a tiger roar, record your own tracks in a camera trap, and learn about the Wildlife Conservation Society’s latest efforts to protect wild tigers and their habitats throughout Asia.
Enrichment Demonstration Schedule 11:30 a.m., 1:30 & 3:30 p.m. daily. From April–October, additional weekend session takes place at 4:30 p.m.
