Boarding requirements and accommodations
Wild Asia Monorail
Accessible for manual wheelchairs up to 26" wide. Guests using motorized scooters or wheelchairs wider than 26" (which includes Zoo rental wheelchairs) have the option of being assisted by a member of their party either into an appropriate-sized wheelchair (available at Monorail platform), or, if possible, onto a Monorail seat.*
Bug Carousel
Accessible for manual wheelchairs.
Skyfari
Accessible for guests using folding wheelchairs, who may be assisted on board by and ride with members of their party;* folded wheelchairs will be transported in the following car. Guests using motorized scooters or non-folding wheelchairs may leave their chairs at the terminal and travel round-trip.
In addition, an accessible “Gondola Car” is available for guests using manual wheelchairs up to 36" wide, and can accommodate an additional member of your party to ride along. Ask staff person at terminal for assistance. Please allow time for staff to bring the gondola to the terminal location.
Zoo Shuttle
Wheelchair accessible by ramp, including small motorized scooters. Guests with large motorized scooters may leave their scooters at the Shuttle stop, be assisted on board by a member of their party,* and travel round-trip.
A Text Telephone (TTY) is available at the Zoo Center Guest Relations desk. Please see Guest Services staff at Zoo Center for assistance. Public telephones accessible to guests using wheelchairs are provided throughout the park. Some telephones are equipped with volume control.

First Aid is located next to the Bronx Zoo Store.
Guests who rely on service animals may bring them into the Zoo, provided that the animals remain properly leashed. Guests are solely responsibility for the care and control of their animals.
