Fimi's Forest Adventure: An Elephant's Journey Home

May 24 - Sep 1

Julie Larsen Maher ©WCS
Fimi is a young African forest elephant who has been separated from her mother and the rest of the herd by poachers. She is lost and scared but determined to make it to the safety of Dzanga Bai before nightfall. On her journey she meets the comical characters Ngoulou, a red river hog, Kalao, a black casqued hornbill, and Suwa, a very hungry leopard and learns a lot about other animals and how they live in the forest.

During the 30-minute puppet musical, visitors will learn about elephants, their fascinating behaviors and traits and why we so care about and want to protect this iconic species. This play is proud to be a part of the 96 Elephant Campaign, bringing the message about the threats to forest elephants to young people and their families in a sensitive way. We hope it will inspire the next generation of conservationist to start taking steps to keep the world safe for Elephants.
