The Inside Scoop on Budgies

Bronx Zoo director Jim Breheny takes you inside Budgie Landing for a special sneak peak and closer look at these sociable parrots.

Getting to Know Budgies

Budgies (or budgerigars if you want to be formal about it) are found in the wild throughout the drier parts of Australia, where they have survived harsh inland conditions for over five million years. Despite their rugged natural environment, they are known for their friendly dispositions.
