World of Birds 50th Anniversary
First opened in 1972, World of Birds covers 30,000 square feet and is home to 1,500 birds ranging from the Sulawesi knobbed hornbill to the ocellated turkey. Inside, there are habitats from all over the world–deserts, rainforests with waterfalls and simulated storms, forests, and more. Join us as we celebrate this iconic exhibit with two special Member events, exclusively for our Limited Zoos, Zoos PLUS, Land & Sea, and Conservation-level Members.
World Of Birds Anniversary Weekend

The celebration continues in June with the 50th anniversary weekend. Get up with the birds and join us at the zoo for early access to the World of Birds and Dinosaur Safari! WCS Members must have a timed ticket for entry and reservations for your free member tickets must be made online in advance.
- Learn all about the different species of birds
- Get access to the Dinosaur Safari walk before it opens to the public
- Get hands on with fun birding crafts
- Meet some very large bird puppets
- Check out the bird meet and greet

- Parking and entrance is at Bronx River and is subject to availability.
- Please bring your Membership card and photo ID
