Educator Resources
WCS's Education Department, is dedicated to providing quality services and resources to teachers in the New York City region and across the country. Our professional development courses for teachers, lesson plans, and other materials for use with grades K–12 have won awards from leading and prestigious organizations, including the U.S. Department of Education, the Association of Educational Publishers, and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
Classroom Activities
These preparatory and post-visit activities help your students make the most of their day at the zoo or aquarium. Supplementary materials are available for a variety of ages, including Lumpy, Bumpy, Scratchy, Smooth for grades K–3 and Animal Architects for grades 6–8.
Online Interactive Activities for the Classroom
Our online activities use interactive games to reinforce science concepts. By incorporating these games into your lesson plans, you'll add a new dimension to your classroom.
