Carolyn Fuchs
Senior Exhibit Specialist, Exhibition and Graphic Arts Department, Bronx Zoo
“Art and science have always been my two loves, and I am lucky to have a career that so seamlessly combines them in a way that also helps to conserve wildlife and wild places. And it’s fun!”
Carolyn's work contributes to conservation by inspiring visitors to respect and appreciate the beauty and complexity of the natural world by recreating a little corner of a rainforest or showing New Yorkers a glimpse of New Zealand. She researches the flora and fauna of the chosen region to ensure she represents them accurately and works with animal curators to make sure the environment is safe and comfortable for its residents. It's always exciting for her to see the animals enjoying the environment she created.
