Susie Bartlett
Associate Veterinarian, Zoological Health Program, Bronx Zoo
“I work with every animal at the zoo, from 2 gram Kihansi spray toads to 8,000 pound elephants.”
Susie works alongside the veterinary and animal care staff to ensure the health and well-being of the animals at the zoo. Each day she performs exams on animals and administers treatments as needed. She also works on some larger goals, such as coordinating the gorilla health program, helping diagnose heart problems in geladas, caring for confiscated animals, and working with wild native bog turtles in the area.
