Discovery Guide Leader
After one season as a Discovery Guide volunteer, youth are eligible to apply for the Discovery Guide Leader Intern position (DGL). Discovery Guide Leader opportunities vary by season but may include serving as a peer mentor or taking a deep dive into live interpretation curriculum design through creating original content to engage zoo and aquarium visitors. These positions are unique opportunities to explore informal science education. Interns contribute to a variety of programs that make science and conservation relevant to people of all walks of life including school field trips, summer camp, family programs, and more. Conservation Education Fellowship
The Conservation Education Fellowship (CEF) program is a unique grant-funded opportunity for early career professionals currently enrolled in college / university in the Bronx to explore the field of education at an informal science institution and develop and execute a learning action plan to support their professional growth as an educator.
This academic-year position takes each year place from September-May (approximately 12 hours per week); the application is typically posted in June/July.
