The Bison Conservation Story - Past, Present, and Future

At WCS, we have been working to protect bison for more than 100 years and dedicate our efforts to telling conservation stories that are multi-dimensional and multi-disciplinary. In this one-day workshop, teachers will utilize primary source documents from our archives to learn about the history of bison in the United States, discover how genetic information is used in population management, and finally, hear why it's important to use indigenous voices in telling conservation stories. Leave with practical ways to implement activities into your classroom and how to encourage students to play a role in the future of these animals.
