Community Conservation: Engaging Locally

WCS is engaged in conservation efforts in 60 countries around the globe with goals to increase biodiversity and save wildlife and wild places. Come with us as we explore the Madidi National Park in Bolivia and learn about how WCS staff is engaging local people in saving the extraordinary biodiversity of Bolivia's wildlife and wild places. How can you connect your students to something happening so far away from New York City? Learn how you can engage your students locally by connecting to science, art, and social studies in your curriculum. This CTLE workshop will be online and have both synchronous and asynchronous activities throughout the day.

Meet Your Instructor

Tara Chudoba (she/her)

Tara is a Manager of Professional Development and finds joy in partnering with educators in their personal journeys of learning and discovery. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology, with a focus on Animal Behavior and her Masters of Science in Teaching, Conservation Biology. Prior to joining WCS, she had many roles in informal science institutions from digital design and exhibit development to education programming, school partnerships, and managing research and development projects. She hopes to instill in others, a passion for wildlife and a practice of finding ways to promote positive change in our world.
