Support the Bronx Zoo's Conservation Efforts
Season 3, Episode 1
Cub-date
Dedicated fans watching this week's show may recognize Khyber from last season. The snow leopard cub is now nearly grown and jumping and climbing around the exhibit without any mobility issues. Make a stop by the Himalayan Highlands on your next visit to see for yourself!
In the wild, snow leopards remain elusive. Only 4,000-10,000 animals are left, stretching across one of the planet’s last great wildernesses in Asia. That’s one of the reasons why Khyber’s birth was such an important one.
As a leader in snow leopard conservation, we’re proud of our long history of breeding success with this species -- more than 70 cubs have been born at the Bronx Zoo as part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums' Species Survival Plan! Every time you visit, you’re helping support the important work of our scientists and the big cats that depend on them.
