A Tale of Two Tigers

September 20, 2016

Welcome to New York, Nadia and Azul!

Earlier this year, we were thrilled to announce the arrival of two Malayan tiger cubs here at the zoo. The twosome needed a little extra help and was hand raised by staff.

Now that they're a bit older, they are ready to explore Tiger Mountain.

We're especially excited because this is only the third litter of Malayan tiger cubs ever born at the Bronx Zoo. With an estimated 250 Malayan tigers left in the wild, these cubs are ambassadors for their species.

The cubs are relatively small for now, but they can grow to weigh 250-300 lbs. Come visit while they're still young, and check back here for updates on their progress.

*Please be understanding if you don't happen to catch the cubs when you visit. The youngsters are usually out in the mornings, but they still need their down time. You can check for the latest updates at bronxzoo.com/app.
