Bronx Zoo
Things to Do
-
Budgie Landing
Enjoy up-close interactions with boisterous and colorful birds. Hang on to your complimentary seed stick - the budgies will fly freely around the habitat, and may choose to come to you for a little snack.*
-
Bug Carousel
Our favorite insects are all here — a long-legged praying mantis, a bright green grasshopper, even a dung beetle. A spin on the carousel is a great stop in the middle of the park.
-
Nature Trek
Get a bird’s eye view of the park! Navigate across bridges and over balancing beams. Weave between obstacles for a safe and challenging adventure. Note: this experience is for children ages 3 & up.
-
Penguin Feedings
When it’s time to eat, our Magellanic penguins come out of their dens or up from the deep and bob for fish. If we think of a question, there’s always a friendly zookeeper nearby to answer it.
-
Sea Lion Feedings
Sea lions are curious and intelligent. Our training/feeding sessions help stimulate them. In the fall, the animals may eat more than usual. They’re building up insulation for the cold weather.
-
Wild Encounters
Explore the zoo like you've always wanted to! Get up close with the animals and the extraordinary work of the Bronx Zoo, or relax with a tour of must-see exhibits.
-
Zoo Shuttle
Seasonal. The Bronx Zoo spans 265 acres. We find the Zoo Shuttle helps maximize the day. Our trolley takes visitors from Wild Asia at one end of the park to Zoo Center at the other, with a stop by Tiger Mountain in between.
