Scavenger Hunts
bronx zoo field trips
Scavenger Hunts give your group an exciting way to go on a self-guided science adventure at the Bronx Zoo. Upon booking you will receive a digital copy of the scavenger hunt activity sheet to download and use with your students on your visit.
Programs are designed for grades K-5th, K-8th, 6th-8th and 6th-12th.

K - 5th Grade
WEEKDAYS, September through August
Exhibit Design
Keeper Dani from the Sunrise Zoo is designing a new exhibit for hippopotamuses and has come to the Bronx Zoo for inspiration. Your group will visit different animal exhibits to learn what components to include and gather other information that will help Dani. This self-guided scavenger hunt is designed for elementary students to explore exhibits together.
Dates: Weekdays from 9/2 through 8/31
Price: $150 / class
Admission into the zoo included. These programs are for a maximum of 45 individuals (35 students and 10 adults). Parking available for additional cost.

K - 8th Grade
WEEKDAYS, September through August
Wild Science
Ever wanted to be a zookeeper or a field scientist? In this self-guided scavenger hunt, your group will try out some of the skills scientists and zookeepers use as you explore the park. Wild Science is designed for groups of all ages to work together to complete this fun adventure!

Mystery Animal
Inspector Ranger Captain Doctor Zoo has a mystery for you to solve. Your group will explore exhibits, following a set of clues to solve the identity of the mystery animal together. This is a self-guided scavenger hunt designed for multi-generational learning fun!

6th - 12th Grade
WEEKDAYS, September through August
Exhibit Design
There are many components that need to be included in a new animal exhibit. On this scavenger hunt, your group will imagine they are building an exhibit for a new zoo animal with Keeper Dani from the Sunrise Zoo. Your group will visit different exhibits to find examples that meet the needs of the animals, the keepers, and zoo visitors. This self-guided scavenger hunt is designed for middle and high school students.
