What if I need more time in the party room?
The Extended Party package gives you time to keep the fun going! An extra half hour in our private party room also allows time for you to bring in any food other than cake (and light snacks) for your guests. Book an Extended Party package for an additional fee of $50.
What if I would like to have more than 36 guests?
Each invitation will allow one family into the zoo. Caregivers who are waiting for their children to finish the party are welcome to explore the zoo throughout the duration of the party. Options are available to add up to 6 guests for an additional fee of $125. Please contact us for more information.
Do you provide invitations?
We are pleased to offer you discounted invitations via Paperless Post with your birthday package.
Do you provide goody bags?
Yes! We provide an animal-themed goody bag for each guest at the party, included with your birthday package.
What age is appropriate for a zoo birthday party?
Our parties are geared for children ages 3–11. In order to schedule a party, the birthday child must be turning at least 3 years old. No exceptions can be made.
Are animals brought into the party room?
Guests have the opportunity to meet and touch at least two animal ambassadors in the party room (facilitated by your zoo educator). Unfortunately we cannot take requests for specific animal meet-and-greets. Rest assured - all of our animal ambassadors will be an awesome addition to your zoo party!
What if it is cold or rainy on the day of my party?
Don't worry, Prospect Park Zoo has many indoor animal exhibits to explore in addition to the private party room! Parties will be held even in inclement weather.
Can I bring my own decorations?
Your private party room includes a digital banner displaying “Happy Birthday” and your child’s name. You are welcome to bring additional party decorations for the space. Balloons and piñatas are not permitted in the zoo.
Is food provided for the party?
Food is not provided. However, hosts are permitted to bring cake, juice, and light snacks for their guests. If the extended party package is selected, guests are permitted to bring additional food. Please note that the zoo does not provide paper goods. Sorry, no alcohol is allowed on zoo property.
Where do my guests go when they arrive at the Zoo?
Admissions gate staff will direct party guests to a meeting point near the party room. From there, a staff member will escort all guests to the party room. Latecomers can check in with our admissions gate staff for directions to the party room.
Can we remain in the Zoo after the party?
You are given access to your private room only during your party. Afterwards, feel free to tour the Zoo for the remainder of the day.
What if I need to cancel my party?
Please be advised we cannot issue any credits or refunds for cancellations.

Awesome! Please fill out our inquiry form here. We can’t wait to celebrate with you at the zoo! Please note that a $200 deposit will be collected at time of booking to secure your party time. The full balance will be due one month prior to your party date.
