DO I NEED A SPECIAL TICKET?

Yes. All visitors age 3+ must have a Pumpkin Nights admission ticket.


WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED AGE FOR PUMPKIN NIGHTS?

This is a family friendly event suitable for all ages.
Visitors age 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult chaperone (age 18+). Tickets required for guests age 3 and older.


HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS FOR PUMPKIN NIGHTS?

$34.95 for Adults 13+
$24.95 for Children 3-12 years
Children 2 and under are free.

CAN I STAY FOR PUMPKIN NIGHTS IF I COME DURING THE DAY?

No. Daytime tickets are different and separate from Pumpkin Nights tickets. All daytime visitors, including WCS members, must purchase a separate Pumpkin Nights ticket in advance to attend the nighttime event.

If you are visiting the Bronx Zoo during daytime hours, tickets for Pumpkin Nights may be available for purchase based on capacity at any Star Attraction booth.

IMPORTANT PARKING NOTE: You must be parked in either the Bronx River main lot or lawn; or Southern Boulevard parking lots to stay for Pumpkin Nights. If you parked for daytime along JungleWorld Road or in Asia Parking lot, be sure to move your car to the main lot before reentering the zoo for your Pumpkin Nights arrival time.

There is NO EXIT at Asia Gate or Fordham Road Gates after 6:00 PM.


HOW DO I GET TICKETS?

Pumpkin Nights tickets are available for purchase online only. All visitors, including Members, must reserve a date and time specific ticket in advance.


DO I NEED TO PRINT MY TICKET?

No. Online tickets can be scanned from your mobile device and do not need to be printed. If you do print your tickets: use best quality resolution on white paper; bring ALL the printed tickets. Tickets (printed or digital) must be presented for entry. Each ticket scan is unique. If you are not arriving with all guests in your order, be sure each person has their tickets in advance. There is no will call or ticket holding window available.


IS THERE A GROUP RATE?

Yes! Groups of 10 or more visitors (ages 3+), receive 20% off regular admission rates, please contact our Group Sales Department (wcsgroupsales@wcs.org, 800-433-4149) for more information.


WHAT IF THE EVENT IS CANCELED OR POSTPONED?

We will make all announcements about overall event schedule or closures on our website: BronxZoo.com

While we plan to run on all listed operating dates, unforseen conditions can occur. Please understand if a significant weather event or storm might cause a change of schedule. In the event of a closure, you will be issued new ticket(s) for another operating date.

For specific weather-dependent activities or unforeseen changes in program, be sure to use our mobile site on the date of your visit.


I CANNOT GO ON THE DATE I SELECTED, CAN I RESCHEDULE FOR ANOTHER NIGHT OR GET A REFUND?

All ticket sales are final. There are no refunds, cancellations or rescheduling. Due to capacity restrictions we must adhere to the ticketing policies which were stated prior to purchase. This includes the terms and conditions acknowledgement that all sales are final and there are no revisions for credit, refund, rescheduling, exchange or cancellation.


I DIDN’T GET AN EMAIL WITH MY TICKETS – WHAT DO I DO?

We are sorry for the difficulty. Please first check to confirm that the purchase was completed on your credit card. If the charge is in “Pending” status of your account, that means that the transaction was not completed and there is no order made.

If the charge was fully processed and you viewed the Sale Confirmation page, but you did not receive the order email, then check your junk/spam folder. If you do not find it, you can contact us to resend your tickets. Please reach out to the Reservation Center to ask for the tickets to be resent: Phone: 800-433-4149 or email (if visit is more than 7 days away): onlinetickets@wcs.org. Be sure to include the name, email and phone number associated with your purchase.

You must get the tickets resent prior to your visit to ensure that your order was processed. If you do arrive on site without the ticket PDF it is a risk that you may not have an order reservation, and if we are sold out you will not be permitted entry.


Are military discounts valid for Pumpkin Nights?

Yes! Active military and veterans are eligible to receive a complementary Pumpkin Nights ticket for themselves and 50% off tickets for up to 3 guests. Advance ticket reservation required. Please use promotional code MILITARYBZ for active personnel and VETERANBZ for Veterans during checkout. Military member must be present with valid ID on entry. Group must stay together on arrival. Not transferable to spouses.


Are there student discounts for Pumpkin Nights?

We offer 30% off of Pumpkin Nights tickets to NYC undergraduate college students. Advance ticket reservation required. Please use promo code NYCCOLLEGE during checkout. Eligible students must either be: a) attending a NYC college (must show a valid college ID from an institution within the 5 boroughs of New York City; b) NYC resident, attending non-NYC college (must show valid college ID and proof of NYC residency). Limit one discounted ticket per order.


DO YOU OFFER REFUNDS?

All ticket sales are final. There are no refunds, cancellations or rescheduling. We ask guests to be accountable to their purchase decision and adhere to the ticketing policies which were stated prior to purchase. Getting Here

Entrance to this event is ONLY via Bronx River Gate and Southern Boulevard Gate. No entry or exit will be permitted through the Asia or Fordham Road Gates.

IS PARKING AVAILABLE?

Parking at the Bronx Zoo is available via the Bronx River Parkway and Southern Boulevard. $10 car; $20 bus. Availability is on a first come first served basis and not guaranteed. Please check https://event.bronxzoo.com/parking before you visit to check parking availability.

WCS Members: Free parking is only available to members who have Bronx Zoo parking added to their membership.

If you're using public transportation, you MUST use the Pelham Parkway subway station as Asia Gate will be closed. Pedestrian access is also available through the Southern Boulevard Gate.


WHAT IS THE BEST PLACE FOR ME TO GET A SHARED RIDE SERVICE OR TAXI?


HOW DO I GET TO THE ZOO IF I DON'T HAVE A CAR?

EXPRESS BUS: from Manhattan: The BxM11 Express Bus makes stops along Madison Avenue, between 26th and 99th Streets, then travels directly to the Zoo's Bronx River entrance (Gate B). For your return trip, pick up the bus just outside the same gate at the MTA BxM11 sign (just outside the Bronx Zoo gate, to the right).

LOCAL BUS : In the Bronx, take Bx9 or Bx19 buses to 183rd Street and Southern Blvd, which is the location of the Zoo's Southern Blvd pedestrian entrance (Gate C). Or take the Bx12 or Bx22 buses to Fordham Road and Southern Blvd, then walk 5 blocks south on Southern Blvd to 183rd Street.

SUBWAY: #2 train to Pelham Parkway Station. This station has three elevators* that lead down to street level. Walk west, where Boston Road meets Bronx Park East. Follow Boston Road to the Zoo's Bronx River entrance (Gate B - interection of Boston Road and Bronx River Parkway Road). Be sure tocheck with the MTA for schedules.

RIDE SHARE or Taxi: Be sure to have the arrival location as Bronx River Gate: Intersection of “Boston Road and Bronx River Parkway Road” or Southern Boulevard Gate: Intersection of “Southern Boulevard between 183rd and 185th streets”

The Experience

WHEN IS PUMPKIN NIGHTS?

Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights: September 28, 2023 - October 29, 2023


WHAT ARE PUMPKIN NIGHTS HOURS OF OPERATION?

There are 2 designated time slots to attend: 6pm and 8pm. You can arrive at the Bronx Zoo starting at the entry time you select. Due to varying sunset times in September and October, the Pumpkin Nights trail will open at 6:30pm. You can enjoy food, games, and live pumpkin carving demonstrations starting at 6pm. For example, an 8:00 PM time spot means you must enter after 8:00 PM. Last entry is at 9:00 PM for all nights. Once you're here, stay as long as you would like. The Bronx Zoo closes at 10:00 PM.


WHICH GATES/ENTRANCES ARE OPEN FOR PUMPKIN NIGHTS?

Bronx River Entrance and Southern Boulevard Entrance ONLY. The Asia and Fordham Road Entrances are not open for Pumpkin Nights.


IS THE ENTIRE ZOO OPEN?

No. Only a limited portion of the zoo is open for this program. All animal exhibit buildings and some other areas will be closed at normal daytime park hours. Please adhere to all posted signs or barriers that block off some pathways as well as one-way paths.


WILL ANIMAL EXHIBITS BE OPEN?

No, there are no animal exhibits open during Pumpkin Nights operating nights.


CAN I EAT THERE?

Snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase, in addition to select food trucks. Members discount offers do not apply to food truck purchases.


IS THE ZOO SHUTTLE RUNNING?

No, the Zoo Shuttle will not be operating. This is a walk-through experience only.


HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO EXPERIENCE THE WHOLE EVENT?

The experience is expected to be 45 minutes long.


CAN I TOUCH THE DISPLAYS?

For your safety, please do not touch any of the pumpkin or light displays. Stay on marked pathways and do not wander into planters or display areas.


WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO TAKE A PICTURE AT PUMPKIN NIGHTS?

You may be photographing Pumpkin Nights in low light during early evening or after dark. If using a camera, boost the ISO, use a slow shutter speed, and turn on the flash to help illuminate people and pumpkins. For cell phones, use the light from a second phone or flashlight and direct it toward your subjects to brighten them.


CAN I RENT A WHEELCHAIR OR STROLLER?

A limited number of strollers and manual wheelchairs will be available for rent on a first-come, first-served basis. A limited number of ECVs will be available at the Southern Boulevard entrance ONLY.

This experience is a walking path that has wheelchair accessible inclines. If you have questions about accessibility or mobility accommodations, please contact guestrelations@wcs.org


Do you have special sensory inclusive hours for Pumpkin Nights?

While we do not have specific days/times designated, we have a number of support services and visit recommendations to help guests with sensory sensitivities have a successful visit to Pumpkin Nights. Review our Social Story for details about the experience.

Avoiding crowds: We recommend visiting on Thursdays and Sundays, where expected attendance would be less than Fridays and Saturdays. Make your reservation for the 6pm timeslot, and arrive to the zoo by 5:45pm.

Sound sensitivity: The event will have low levels of ambient sounds and music. If someone needs additional support, we have Sensory Bags for free loan which include noise-reducing headphones.

No. Members receive an exclusive 40% discount by purchasing advance tickets online, in our member ticket portal. Discount is only valid for the amount of adults & children covered under the membership.

Yes! Members receive an exclusive 40% discount on tickets –

  • Adult (13 and up): $20.95 (discount reflected in price shown)
  • Child (3 -12): $14.95 (discount reflected in price shown)

Do IDNYC Members get discounted tickets to Pumpkin Nights?

Yes. IDNYC Members can purchase a discounted ticket ONLY for the named individual (1 person) listed on the card. Your discounted ticket must be purchased online prior to your visit in our member ticket portal. A valid WCS IDNYC Membership card and photo ID must be presented at the time of entry, along with your Pumpkin Nights ticket. If you’d like to upgrade your existing membership, call us at 718-220-5112 from 9 am to 5 pm daily!


AS A WCS MEMBER, CAN I BUY DISCOUNTED TICKETS FOR MY FRIENDS/FAMILY?

No. Discounted Member tickets for Pumpkin Nights is only valid for WCS Members. Discount is only valid for the amount of adults & children covered under the membership. Discount cannot be used for additional guests not covered under your WCS membership. A valid WCS Membership card and photo ID must be presented at the time of entry, along with your Pumpkin Nights ticket(s). Additional fees will be required If a valid membership card and photo ID is not presented with your Pumpkin Nights ticket(s).

Know Before You Go

Important Warning: Some areas may include intense audio, UV lighting, extremely low visibility, strobe lights, fog, and/or special effects. It is not recommended for guests who are claustrophobic, pregnant, are prone to seizures, or have heart and/or respiratory problems.

WHAT ITEMS ARE NOT PERMITTED?

Balloons, radios, bikes, skateboards, or scooters are NOTpermitted in the Zoo. Playing ball is also prohibited. Firearms, pocket knives or any weapons, fireworks, drugs and outside food or drinks are not permitted.

CAN I SMOKE?

The Bronx Zoo is a smoke-free park. Smoking of any kind, including e-cigarettes, is only permitted in parking lots.


IS PUMPKIN NIGHTS WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?

Yes. The route has inclines which are wheelchair accessible. Please contact us in advance if someone in your reservation needs assistance or accommodations for accessibility, so we can help support the best experience. Due to capacity restrictions, you are only permitted to attend the event starting at the time slot you purchased.


WHAT SAFETY MEASURES ARE IN PLACE?

Your safety is our priority. Our First Aid station will be open and NYPD will be present throughout the evening. Disorderly conduct will result in your immediate removal from the park. This includes, but is not limited to, trespassing into restricted areas; touching actors or staff.

All guests must abide by the park rules in effect on the date of your visit. When changes happen, we make every effort to align our website and park signage with updates. Always check before you arrive for the most up-to-date information.
